Fencing battled through adversity to close out the 2015-16 season the same way it finished in 2014-15: on top.  The men’s and women’s teams each earned a share of the Ivy League title before the Light Blue combined to win its second consecutive NCAA championship.

Fencing defeated Ohio State 174-167 at the NCAA Championships Sunday, claiming its second consecutive national championship. Princeton and St. John’s finished tied for third with 161 points each.

Columbia fencing will return to the NCAA championships next week at full force. The reigning national champions secured all of the possible 12 qualifiers during the first weekend of Spring Break at the NCAA Regionals event hosted by Vassar.
